A Fall Fest Full of Frights, Flavors & Family Fun! 🎃

What a spook-tacular time at the Academy! Our annual Fall Fest and Trunk or Treat brought together so many wonderful families, creating an evening full of Halloween magic, laughter, and community spirit. We are incredibly thankful for all the kind families who participated in both events and helped make this year's celebration one to remember!

From the creatively decorated trunks filled with spooky surprises and festive details to our delicious Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Bake-Off, everyone truly went all out this year! There was no shortage of creativity, friendly competition, and mouthwatering treats. Our families brought their A-game, and we loved seeing everyone come together to celebrate the season.

Events like these remind us just how special our Academy community is. The time, effort, and enthusiasm our families put into making these celebrations memorable mean so much to us. Whether you decorated a trunk, entered the cook-off, brought a homemade dessert, or simply came out to enjoy the festivities, you helped make the evening extra special.

A huge thank-you to all our participating families and educators for making this Fall Fest and Trunk or Treat such a success. We couldn't have done it without you! Until next year, keep those creative ideas brewing because this year's Halloween festivities will be a tough act to follow! 🕸️🧡

Pedals, Poses & Plenty of Fun at AoMF! 🚲💃

Our friends at the Academy of Maryland Farms had a wheel-y wonderful time celebrating Bike Day and showing off their dancing skills with Tippie Toes! 🚲 Bike Day gave our little riders the chance to hop on their bikes, practice their riding skills, and enjoy some outdoor fun with their friends. Everyone was ready to roll, and we couldn’t have been more wheely excited to see their confidence grow with every pedal!

The fun continued as our friends put their best feet forward with Tippie Toes, our instructional dance program! 💃 It was such a treat to watch our little dancers follow along, learn new movements, and show off the skills they’ve been practicing. From following directions to finding their rhythm, our friends were truly on pointe! These experiences are a wonderful way to encourage coordination, listening skills, body awareness, and self-expression while building confidence through movement.

Whether our friends were riding on two wheels or dancing on their tippy toes, one thing is for sure: AoMF knows how to keep the fun in motion! We’re pedaling into new adventures and dancing our way through another fantastic day of learning! 🧡

KINDERGARTEN BOOT CAMP: AN ACADEMY EXCLUSIVE

The Academy is recognized by the community for our kindergarten specific programs including our one-of-a-kind Kindergarten Boot Camp. Our Pre-K program includes hands-on explorations that create new learning connections in language, math, science, social, emotional and physical development. Children investigate “Big Ideas” and are actively involved in seeking answers to their own questions. Intentional daily plans cover a specific range of guidelines that prepare our children to meet and exceed kindergarten readiness standards for both public and private schools. Kindergarten Boot Camp, offered exclusively by Never Grow Up, is a dedicated summer program that teaches important, yet often overlooked, skills needed to navigate kindergarten with confidence. Skills such as remembering a lunch number, carrying a lunch tray or returning a library book are examples of how we “train” our Academy kids to “be all they can be”!

GETTING A JUMP ON CHILDHOOD OBESITY Healthy habits are instilled at a young age, with most habits being formed during adolescence. We feel it important to instill good habits at an early age, addressing behavioral factors that contribute to overweight and obesity from the beginning. The Gold Sneaker initiative was developed to enhance policy related to physical activity and nutrition within licensed child care facilities across Tennessee. Policies we've adopted include minimum requirements on physical activity, sedentary activities, breastfeeding, meal time, behaviors, portion sizes, and a tobacco-free facility. Together, we can create healthy habits for life.
