Hand Washing for Kids

Concern over this new COVID-19 virus can make children and families anxious. The number one, most effective way to keep us and our children healthy is in your hands- literally. Proper hand-washing is one of the best and easiest ways to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others, according to the CDC. Making sure your children are washing their hands correctly is challenging and teaching them how is definitely a work in progress. Here are the correct steps.

  • Wet your hands with warm water

  • Lather up with soap. Be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails!!

  • Scrub your hands for 20 seconds – about the time it takes to say the alphabet slowly or hum the “Happy Birthday” song twice.

  • Rinse your hands well under warm, running water.

  • Dry your hands using a clean towel.
Have fun handwashing!!
