As spring settles in and the weather warms up you will begin to spend more time outdoors with your littles. We’d like to share reminders on spring safety outdoors.
Weather Safety
In Tennessee you can never be to sure. It’s best to dress in layers so that you may adjust based on how the weather decides to warm up or get colder
Helmets
It’s time to get the bikes and scooters back out to hit the road, sidewalk, or pavement. Either way don’t forget your helmets. Make sure they are on properly to prevent any injuries. Be sure that they fit properly and are not damaged. Happy riding!
Insect Repellent
Just like us, the bugs are ready to come out as well. Be sure to spray before going out and reapply after getting wet! This will keep down those itchy bug bites. Insect repellents containing DEET have been tested and approved as safe for kids older than 2 months. But take care when you use them: Choose a repellent with no more than 10% to 30% concentration of DEET. *Children 2 months and under should not be sprayed*
Sunscreen
The sun is out and beaming. Apply a good coat of sunscreen before coming out. Reapply after getting wet. Once your baby is 6 months old, it's time to introduce sunscreen. This doesn't mean it's OK to forget all the other sun protection methods you've been using with your baby — covering up with clothing and seeking shade are still important
